Animal Cruelty Cited 

The SPCA recently cited a local woman with cruelty to animals. Mother Hubbard, long time resident of Lily of the Valley gated community, was cited with cruelty to her pet dog, Spike.

Apparently, Old Mother Hubbard went to the cupboard to get her poor dog a bone. When she got there the cupboard was bare and so, the poor dog had none.

SPCA spokesperson, W. Rabbit claims that elderly resident neglected to provide adequate nutrition for Spike. "She should have known that her food stocks were running down," said Rabbit. "Now, if you'll excuse me I'm late." He had no further comment.

Neighbours were shocked. "She's always so friendly," explained Rapunzel. "And Spike is very well behaved - we never hear a peep."

Hubbard has been fined $1000.00 and Spike has been taken into foster care.
